Hiking

Hiking in Finland is a major nature activity loved by locals and tourists because Finnish forests are a true joy to explore. Fish & Fun Holiday Village stands on the border of two regions: Etelä-Savo and Päijät-Häme, and the third big region Kymenlaakso starts in 20 minuter drive from the Village. The location of the Village gives opportunity to visit hiking trails and national parks of all three regions. Check them out!

Here are some of our favourite trails:

Pirunkirkko

Pirunkirkko or The Devil’s Church is a massive negatively sloping rock formation shaped like a giant lava. From the parking lot to the Devil’s Church, there is a 2.2 km trail. The path follows the cliffs so we don’t recommend the place to very low-footed people - it is a good route, but in some places there is a steep drop down and wooden ladders.

Also while hiking there is a great chance to see wild beavers and different birds.

Repovesi Ketunlenkki

Repovesi National Park has a large variety of hiking trails starting from 2.4 km to 21km round routes. Our favorite is a round 5km long Ketunlenkki trail. It is marked with fox symbol. The trail follows through beautiful forest and Through suspension bridge that was renovated in 2019. There are plenty of grilling areas on the route and on the way back there is a hand operated “Fox ferry"
